I called Samsung today to find out why I had yet to hear from their refrigeration engineer, who was meant to have contacted me more than a week ago.
They told me they had logged my original call under the name "Mr F. Franks".
The operator refused to confirm whether the F. in F. Franks stood for Frank.
I then suggested it had to be either Frank Franks or Fred Franks, as I couldn't think of any other English forenames beginning with F.
This seemed to confuse her, because she then started referring to me as "Mr Franks".
"Fridge," I said. This elicited no response, so I went on to explain my new theory that the F. in F. Franks probably stood for fridge, as my call did relate to a problem with a fridge; this did not though explain the Franks bit.
There was silence at the other end of the line.
"Are you still there?" I asked.
